ACTORS (Deadline passed)

There are two roles in our upcoming March/April 2024 production: ROMEO AND JULIET: A Wacky Love Story!

Storyline:

A Fresh take on the Romeo and Juliet narrative, set in an alternative universe brimming with paradoxes and avarice. This modern satire provokes thought and laughter, making you question the very nature of Juliet's love for Romeo. Delve into a bizarre conflict between the magnates of the Rice and Pasta empires. This contemporary reinterpretation spins the classic tale with a satirical twist and cleverly weaves in themes that resonate with today's audience socially and politically.

LADY ESCALUS

  • Age: 30-48 years old.

  • No specific physical requirement.

  • Gender: Female or Trans-Female

  • Pay: One-time Stiepend at Strike for $300 + Bonus for sold tickets by actor

(Actors are not obligated to sell tickets. However, if actors sell tickets, they do receive a portion of the ticket price as a bonus)

Character Trend:

Lady Escalus is portrayed as the authoritative governor of Verona, known for her straightforward, astute, and transparent demeanor. As a highly respected political figure, she embodies the elite 1% that holds sway over global affairs and political dynamics.

LORD MONTAGUE

  • Age: 30-48 years old.

  • No specific physical requirement.

  • Gender: Male or Trans-Male

  • Pay: One-time Stiepend at Strike for $300 + Bonus for sold tickets by actor

(Actors are not obligated to sell tickets. However, if actors sell tickets, they do receive a portion of the ticket price as a bonus)

Character Trend:

We are casting for the role of Lord Montague, Romeo's father, in our unique and satirical adaptation of "Romeo and Juliet." The character of Lord Montague is a well-spoken and eloquent man. He has a penchant for polished and refined speech, which he delivers with a liberal flair. Actors auditioning for this role should be prepared to showcase their ability to convey sophistication and articulateness in their performance. Additionally, it's important to note that, due to the storyline, Lord Montague may not appear significantly older than Romeo. This adds a unique dynamic to the character and the overall narrative.
